Marketplace in Clifton

St. Peter's Haven Food Pantry serves over 1,500 Passaic County families and individuals in need by providing them with supplementary groceries every month. We need volunteers to help the pantry run smoothly. 

NEED-TO-KNOW:

• Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays to unload food donation trucks and under the supervision of St. Peter's staff, organize items on shelves and tables. This will include sorting produce and canned items by type then placing them into crates for clients to choose from. Also, Bread and dessert will be organized onto shelves. 

• Wednesdays and Thursdays are distribution days where volunteers help set up tables and food displays and directly serve grocery items to community members. Volunteers will help clients pack their bags, aid with restocking clients’ stations, and help take groceries to clients cars. Additionally, volunteers will help clean the pantry and take out garbage.  

• Volunteers should dress for the weather because they will take out garbage or take food to clients' cars.

• Being flexible will be a plus as task may change based on necessity

• This project involves a lot of heavy lifting! (20lb - 40lb) Please bring your own work gloves (if preferred) and wear closed toed shoes and comfortable clothes.

Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
