Weekend Museum Tour Guide/Docent

Tour guides/docents are needed to greet and provide visitors with an educational experience about Native American lifeways and history as it pertains to our exhibits. The museum is an active learning center for children and adults of all ages and abilities. If you have an interest in or are interested in learning about Native American history and culture or early Pennsylvania history, we will offer you an exciting and meaningful experience. 

Tour guides are currently needed Saturdays and Sundays during open hours and able to volunteer at least one 6 hour shift per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months. Great opportunity for retired educators and internships for academic credit.

Tour guides must be able to:

-learn a body of information;

-enjoy speaking to groups;

-commit time to training and presentation. 

Experience in teaching is helpful, but not required. 

Initial training will be scheduled for two days from 10 am to 2 pm .
