Sign Up for Youth Engaged In Service (YES) 2026

Youth Engaged in Service (YES) is a FREE program for youth and is focused on community engagement. Students in grades 6 to 12 will learn more about social issues facing Alexandrians and how nonprofits address these issues, and then will earn direct service hours and service learning hours.

Participants will engage with nonprofits, city agencies, and people from all walks of life as they earn service hours, explore career paths, and develop real-world skills. Get your questions answered with the Program FAQ. Read testimonials and more on the Program Page.

This program is FREE for residents of the City of Alexandria. Snacks will be provided. All locations are accessible by public transit.

Summer Program Dates

• Tuesday, June 16, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • Combatting food insecurity with ALIVE!
• Wednesday, June 17, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • Touring water management facilities with AlexRenew
• Thursday, June 18, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • Creating materials to support animals and shelters
