About this Opportunity

Join the James River Park System’s Invasive Species Management team to remove invasive plants and support to healthy habitat!

Leaders and volunteers will meet at 9:00 a.m. on scheduled Tuesday mornings at Pony Pasture.

We provide tools (as needed) and work gloves, but feel free to bring your own work gloves. PLEASE note reminders and instructions at the end of this posting.  The tools we use are hand pruners, loppers (long-handled pruners), and handsaws (folding, non-mechanized).

This spring we will focus on two goals:  freeing trees of invasive vines and removing the same types of invasive vines as groundcover in specific restoration areas. Which activity we choose and where we work will depend on weather, number of volunteers, and other factors.
