Make a Difference by Being a Dinner Helper at Hilliard House Shelter!

Join us in making mealtimes smoother for families at Housing Families First! As a Dinner Helper, you will assist with serving dinner, cleaning up after meals, and ensuring the dining area remains a welcoming space for our families. Depending on the evening’s needs, you may also help with organizing the pantry and dining room to keep everything stocked and tidy.

Volunteer Details:

📅 Time Commitment: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Monday-Friday shifts)
👥 Volunteers Needed: 1-2 per shift
📍 Location: Housing Families First, 3900 Nine Mile Rd., Henrico, VA 23223

Responsibilities:

✔ Assist with setting up and serving dinner to families
✔ Help with kitchen and dining area clean-up
✔ Organize and restock pantry items as needed
✔ Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for families

Ideal Volunteer:

✅ Friendly and service-oriented
✅ Comfortable working in a kitchen/dining setting
✅ Able to lift light items and stand for the duration of the shift
✅ Willing to jump in where help is needed!

Important Information:

⚠ A background check is required for all volunteers in this role.
⚠ Volunteers must commit to at least two shifts per month for a minimum of six months.
⚠ This opportunity is intended for individuals seeking an ongoing commitment with HFF.
⚠ Children are not permitted to volunteer for this role at this time.
⚠ Court-mandated volunteers are welcome as long as they can commit to volunteering for at least six months.
