Veteran Hospice Care Volunteers in Marin/Napa/Sonoma/Solano counties

Do you have two to four hours a week to help dying patients and their families?

We are looking for caring veterans who will provide support for our veteran patients and their families in their last stage of life. Make a difference by offering companionship, caregiver relief, assistance with errands, and other support activities. We can use volunteers to help in the office or in patients’ homes. Provide companionship, caregiver relief, help with errands, bereavement help of various sorts. The schedule is flexible. We serve Marin, Napa, Solano, and Sonoma Counties.

Qualifications: 

 Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Understanding and supportive of hospice philosophy. Compassionate person who is accepting and respectful of people's differences. The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to pass background check requirements. CMS requires that all patient-facing staff, as well as those that are in contact with patient-facing staff, be fully vaccinated, or have a documented religious or medical exemption. This important rule is required for all healthcare organizations that receive federal funds through Medicare or Medicaid.
