FOOD: Dreams for Change Food Bank

Dreams for Change partners with the San Diego Food Bank each Wednesday to help bring food to 125+ low-income families in San Diego's Valencia Park/Encanto community. 

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Key Responsibilities:

• Packing, handling and carrying food

Skills & Qualifications:

• No prior experience needed

• Comfortable working outdoors and interacting with community members

• Ability to stand for the full shift and lift bags of food

• Must follow client privacy and photo guidelines

Training Provided: 

• On-site training provided at the beginning of the shift

Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little to no shade so wearing weather appropriate clothing is recommended
 
Bring: Plenty of water and a snack

Physical Requirements: Volunteers will be standing and lifting bags of food for the duration of the shift. Must be able to lift and carry food bags and to stand and move for extended periods. Unfortunately, the project space is not wheelchair accessible
