About this Opportunity

Join OCH at the Back Bay Science Center as we restore the riparian habitat through invasive plant removal and native planting. This habitat is important for resident and migrating species. With constant human related impacts, this habitat is in constant need of restoration efforts and we are excited to be able to help. As we work in the habitat, important species information will be discussed relating to the habitats and species therein.

Waiver: Everyone must sign both OC Habitats waiver and Project Grow waiver to participate in this restoration.

Bring/Wear:

  • Water and snacks
  • Jacket/sweater
  • Closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting muddy/wet (preferably water-resistant)
  • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, reef-friendly sunscreen)
  • On the day of the restoration, volunteers must arrive by 9:15am. This will allow us walk to the site and start by 9:30am.

Park & Meet: Back Bay Science Center (600 Shellmaker Rd, Newport Beach, CA 92660). Parking is free. This is a gated site so you will be given access upon arrival at the gate on Shellmaker.
