About this Opportunity
Family Services of Westchester is looking for Volunteer Classroom Assistants for its Head Start and Early Head Start centers throughout Westchester. Volunteers will support the Head Teacher in addressing the needs of each individual child as well as assist in classrooms with activities such as:
- Playtime and circle time
- Mealtime and snack time
- Naps and toileting
- Health and safety guidelines
The greatest need for volunteers is in the Rochambeau location in White Plains. Background checks will be required for all volunteers.

Founded in 1954, Family Services of Westchester (FSW) is a private, nonprofit, non-sectarian social services agency that provides mental health and social services to strengthen and support families, children, and individuals at every stage of their lives. FSW's Head Start/Early Head Start is a federal government program that was created in 1965 to give preschool children from low-income families a "head start" on their readiness for elementary school.
