About this Opportunity
What will volunteers be doing at this event?
Join Friends of Shelby as we beautify the landscape beds in the park! We will be weeding and pruning landscaping beds throughout Shelby Park and Bottoms, and potentially spreading mulch where needed.
What is the community impact of this event?
The landscape beds we will be working on are a part of what makes Shelby Park welcoming and beautiful! Shelby Park has been welcoming the community with open arms for the last 100+ years, and we want to keep the park looking nice and blooming with seasonal flowers. Let's not forget our local insects and wildlife will appreciate the food source provided by these native blooms!
What should volunteers bring to this event?
Please wear close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle if you have one. Tools, gloves, and additional water will be provided.
Accessibility/safety
This event will require participants to bend down and get in the dirt, as we will be weeding. Restrooms will be a short walk from our work site.
