About this Opportunity
English ivy is an invasive plant that threatens tree vitality and native habitats. Ivy has become a problem in Donald Robertson Park that we began addressing in 2024, and will continue this year. We are first removing the ivy on mature trees, mostly Cottonwoods and coniferous trees in the natural area at the back of the park. We do this by pulling the ivy off using our hands, pruners, and loppers. We then cut the ivy off at the base near the tree and create an ivy-free zone around the tree. It's amazing how soon even the ivy remaining on the tree out of our reach soon withers and dies. The City of Wood Village will provide refreshments.
Advanced Registration: Is required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.
Meeting Location: We will meet in the front of Wood Village City Hall and walk to the back of the park from there.
Address: 24300 Northeast Halsey Street Wood Village, OR 97060 | Map Link
