About this Opportunity
Help bring the 39th annual Community Paint‑a‑thon to life by leading the recruitment, coordination, and support of volunteers for this high‑impact service event. In this role, you’ll work closely with staff to ensure volunteers are informed, prepared, and supported before, during, and after the event—making it possible for teams to successfully complete critical home improvement projects for community members in need.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys organizing people, communicating clearly, and managing logistics in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteers in this role may:
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment efforts for the Paint‑a‑thon using website listings, outreach, and registration tools
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Paint‑a‑thon volunteer team leaders and individual volunteers
- Track sign‑ups, roles, attendance, and assignments
- Communicate event details, expectations, and reminders
- Assist with orientation, day‑of check‑in, and team assignments
- Support retention by gathering feedback and assisting with follow‑up communications
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Time Commitment
- One-time project role tied to the 39th Annual Community Paint-a-thon which takes place on September 11 & 12, 2026
- Increased commitment in the weeks leading up to the event and on event days
- Flexible scheduling; attendace at monthly meetings, colunteer trainings/orientaitions, and event‑day availability required
Location
- Mostly hybrid or remote planning work
- On‑site presence typically required on Paint‑A‑Thon event day and at trainings in the week leading up to the event
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable coordinating groups of volunteers
- Organized and detail‑oriented
- Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, volunteer platforms)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Prior volunteer coordination or event planning experience is helpful but not required
- Prior Salesforce or other database experience is a plus
Training & Support
- Program overview and planning tools provided
- Ongoing support from staff throughout the event cycle
- Clear timelines, templates, and expectations shared in advance
