About this Opportunity
Opportunity Overview:
Interested in ecology? Want to promote biodiversity on our properties and across Massachusetts? Combine your love of nature with service by helping The Trustees to curb the harmful spread of invasive species. This volunteer position requires removing invasive species and bagging them for removal. Work is mostly independent with occasional opportunities to work with staff and other volunteers. This position is vital to helping The Trustees’ achieve their ecological stewardship goals.
For this independent role, volunteers should check in with the Ranger Station upon their arrival to pick up bags and receive directions to where Garlic Mustard is growing at World's End. There will be a map with the area marked, and a cone at that site to mark it. Volunteers should leave filled garlic mustard bags at the cone for the Stewardship team to retrieve.
Volunteers should bring gloves, wear closed-toed shoes and long pants for insect protection, and wear bug spray and sun protection as needed.
