• 19% are under 18 yrs old

• 14% are over 55 yrs old

• Youth Homelessness increased 18%

• Family Homelessness increased 15%

According to the McKinney-Vento Act, living in a car, hotel, motel, camping ground, or any place outside or not meant for human habitation is considered homelessness.

Streetside Showers is a nonprofit organization thatprovides free mobile showers, hygiene kits, and clean undergarments to people experiencing homelessness in North Texas.

Streetside Showers' mission is to help restore human dignity to the homeless community.The organization's founder, Lance Olinski, was inspired to start Streetside Showers after seeing a homeless man washing out of a public restroom in McKinney, TX.Streetside Showers parks temporary showers in strategic locations, including McKinney, Irving, and Plano.The organization also makes free showers available three to four times per week in the Dallas Metroplex.
