About this Opportunity
The role of the Disaster Mental Health (DMH) Deputy Regional Lead is to support the DMH Regional Lead in onboarding and supporting volunteers on the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check the qualifications for interested new Disaster Mental Health (DMH) Volunteers by collecting license information and processing the associated check.
- Help on-board new DMH volunteers by folling up and confirming that they understand the courses they must take, how to get onto The Edge (online learning site) and get help if they cant, answer their questions and concerns.
- Ensure new members feel welcomed and appreciated
- Monitor the roster DMH volunteers each month to ensure all volunteers are active and engaged in the mission. If not, send a personal email or text message to each one to urge them to document their volunteer time immediately.
- Confirm completion of required training for all DMH volunteers.
- Contact all volunteers who have been inactivated in the past 6 months and try to inspire them to become reactivated.
- Assist the DMH Territorial Leads and other CAS callers who do not have CAS access to get access to CAS.
- Keep the Regional Lead apprised of DMH volunteers by territory.
- Help develop a texting group list for rapid messaging about disasters.
- Identify disaster response "GAPs" (AKA roles) for each DMH volunteer, be sure each member knows his/her GAP. (GAP = Group/Activity/Position)
- Design flyers/advertising for workshops and institutes.
Time Commitment:
Flexible timing, anticipated at about 5 hours per month.
Location:
The volunteer in this role may come in and volunteer from their closest office or volunteer from home at their discretion.
