Refugee Resettlement: School Impact Services Intervention/Tutoring Assistant

Volunteers work with the Refugee Resettlement Department School Impact team where they assist with in-school interventions and tutoring. Volunteers may also assist staff with case notes and home visits on an as-needed basis.

We need volunteers who are good with children. We serve all ages K-12, but primarily, volunteers are placed with middle school aged youth. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and go through the background checks required by Catholic Charities, Alief ISD, and HISD.

Requirements

• Interview with School Impact staff
• Must be fluent in English
• Must be willing to do a background check, drug screen, and TB test
• Must have familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
