About this Opportunity
At Friends For Life, every animal matters. Founded in 2002, Friends For Life introduced the first no-kill shelter model to Houston saving animals regardless of their breed, age or condition.
Houston-grown, were here to help our neighbors care for the pets they love.
Were not finished until every animal has a safe home. Until then, well be innovating, improving and tracking results to find the most effective ways to save lives. And we work hard to find the best fit for our animalswho are up for adoption!
Part of our adoption process is completing a phone interview with the potential adopter.
We need volunteers to assist with our adoption phone interviews. These volunteers get training on what to ask, what to look for and how to relay the information to help support our animals in finding their forever homes. They are not expected to approve or deny any applicants, they simply take notes and pass the information along to our adoptions staff.
The training for this position starts with a couple of online trainings that will be on your volunteer portal, then you can come in for an in-person hands-on training (only out-of-state volunteers are eligible for a remote training). We would prefer volunteers to come into the shelter for their shifts if they live in Houston, but volunteers can also make calls remotely.
