MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM VOLUNTEER

POSITION SUMMARY:
Volunteers will assist our free after school program serving a diverse group of middle school students.
Volunteers will support our vision for youth programs at LCEC to prepare our youth to be college and
career ready. Volunteers who thrive in this role focus on building a relationship with youth by getting to
know them as individuals, building trust, and being someone youth can talk to about their day.

HOURS:
1.75 hours/week
Shift Options: Mondays-Fridays 4:15 PM 6:00 PM


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help engage youth in any daily activities.
  • Help staff with any set up or cleanup for activities.
  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience building relationships and working with youth of color.
  • Mature attitude, creativity & resourcefulness.
  • Understanding and appreciation of socio-economically, ethnically and culturally diverse populations.
  • Cultural humility and focus on positive youth development.
  • REPORTS TO: Youth Programs Manager

    volunteer training. Timeline for process dependent on timeliness of submission.
