For 80 consecutive years, the president of the U.S. has recognized March as Red Cross Month to honor people giving back through our lifesaving mission which is powered by more than 90% volunteers.Our mission wouldnt be possible without these community heroes. During our annual Red Cross Month celebration in March, we invite you to turn your compassion into action.

Disaster Dispatch Volunteer

Virtual opportunity to coordinate local response teams that provide basic comfort and care to families after home fires and other disasters.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch activate disaster responders and monitor the response to ensure appropriate resources are made available.
• May be required to monitor activity across multiple responses.
• Notify Public Affairs, Health, and Mental Health Services when needed.
• Document incident information

Time Commitment

• Work remotely from comfort of home.
• Minimum 4 on-call shifts per month.

Qualifications

• Reliable access to phone, computer and internet when on-call.
• Excellent customer service over phone.
• Able to maintain confidentiality with client information.
• Intermediate/advanced computer & Internet skills.
• Comfortable working in stressful situations.
• Must be at least 18 years old to serve in this role.
