Pearlman Volunteer Center administers the volunteer recruitment, screening and interviewing, orientation, training and education, placement and referral, retention, and recognition processes for Lighthouse Guild. Our current corps of volunteers consists of 600 volunteers who contribute to the success of the organization and carry on the legacy of service of the organization’s founders.

Volunteer Opportunity: This position is ideal for an individual with an interest in or experience with data management, non-profit management, human resources administration or business management, who also possesses a strong customer service orientation and communications skills. The ideal candidate will have critical responsibilities in a busy department. You will help support Volunteer Center operations by reviewing, gathering, and entering volunteer time data within the department’s time management system, Volgistics. You will review other program related data along all platforms and databases for consistency and accuracy. You must possess strong administrative skills and be comfortable navigating at an intermediate to advanced level Word, Excel, and Access documents and be willing to learn to use the volunteer management system.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
1.Audit timekeeping records. 2.Verify attendance and hours served, follow up with volunteers to correct any discrepancies. 3.Reconcile/synchronize timekeeping information across all platforms. 4.Update volunteer assignments. 5.Produce reports of various data points from various platforms, providing analysis as needed. 6.Assist with processing new volunteers. 7.Communicate with volunteers. 8.Support the administrative needs of the department.
Qualifications: .Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required. 2.Strong written and oral communication skills, including clear diction is required. 3.The ability to take and follow instruction, take initiative, and apply critical thinking skills is required. 4.Prior experience where customer service skills have been used is preferred. 5.Prior experience in an administrative capacity where data analysis and review is preferred. 6.Knowledge of mathematical reasoning and analytical skills to avoid errors during work, required. 7.Experience managing a project independently to completion is required. 8.Ability to work independently and with little guidance required. 9.Ability to exhibit excellence in the execution of your responsibilities is required.
Details of the Opportunity: The ideal candidate is available during business hours 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
