Make a Difference: Become a Reading Buddy or Tutor at SCIC!

Shalom Community Impact Center (SCIC) is seeking loving and caring individuals to come alongside our children and help them grow through education and connection. Our programs primarily serve children and families from Eastern Africa and Afghanistan, though we welcome individuals from various backgrounds. SCIC provides a nurturing environment through our Preschool, Afterschool Academic Support Program, and Summer Program all designed to support children as they thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our summer programs serve children from 5 to 18 years old, providing tailored academic support to youth of all ages.We are looking for loving and caring individuals to serve as reading buddies and reading tutors. Whether youre helping a preschooler prepare for kindergarten, teaching an elementary student to read, or assisting an older student who needs to catch up, your time and support can make a lasting difference. No teaching experience is required just a willingness to serve and build meaningful relationships. If youre passionate about education and supporting children, we would love for you to come alongside our children as part of the SCIC volunteer team!
