Get involved at Portsmouths community workspace! We are seeking volunteers that like to work with their hands and learn new things. Our Deskie volunteers take on a 2 or 4 hour shifts to watch the shop, handle workshop-related tasks, greet and welcome newcomers to Port City Makerspace. Help us foster a creative community and provide access to tools and workspace! No experience necessary, training for this position will be provided.

As a token of gratitude, volunteers contributing a minimum of 4 hours per week or 16 hours per month shall receive a 24/7 Guild Membership at no cost. Volunteers contributing a minimum of 2 hours per week or 8 hours per month shall receive a Basic Membership.

Currently we are seeking people for the following time slots:

• 12-4pm Tuesday
• 12-4pm Thursday
• 4-8pm Thursday
• 4-8pm Friday
• 10-2pm Saturday
• 2-6pm Saturday

Responsibilities

• Commit to a minimum of 2 or 4 hours of volunteer time per week.
• Wear their volunteer apparel during their volunteer shift (hat or T-shirt).
• Take on regular cleaning duties in the shops or an area of their choice.
• Speak to visitors during your volunteer shift and answer questions.
• Report any issues like broken equipment or needed supplies.
• Take care of opening or closing procedures depending on the shift.
• Log volunteer hours at the end of each shift.
