Become an advocate for elders and residents in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facities. Information Session and Class offered on an ongoing basis!

The Office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman advocates of people living in Long Term healthcare facilities by visiting residents and resolving complaints related to resident rights and services provided to them. Certified Ombudsman Volunteer Representatives (COVR's) are representatives of the New Hampshire Long Term Care Ombudsman's Office who visit their assigned facility(s) approximately 2 hours once per week after the completion of a certification class. The certification process begins with a 30 hour classroom component followed by 10 hours working hand in hand with an experienced mentor. The certification classes are held in concord at no charge. Mileage reimbursement is provided at the current federal rate for all approvedclass time, facility visits, and statewide meetings.
