Distribute free Summer meals to youth!

Do you believe equitable access to food is a human right? Are you passionate about hunger prevention for families? Help Solid Ground's residential services and shelter staff distribute free summer meals to their youth residents!

Volunteers will support Broadview Shelter and Sand Point Housing staff in distributing breakfast, lunch, andsnacksto youth. Distribution volunteers are expected to maintain a friendly and outgoing attitude when interacting with children from diverse backgrounds. Staff need support with cleanup, garbage disposal, food inventory and storage, group activities, and more.

About Broadview Shelter and Transitional Housing: Broadview provides secure, confidential housing for parents with kids whove survived domestic violence (DV) and are moving out of homelessness. Using a trauma-informed care model, we help families address the issues that led to their housing loss, develop a strong community support system, and find and secure permanent housing. Volunteers play an important role at Broadview!

Time Commitment: Summer Meals volunteers are needed Monday- Friday, 10am-12:30pm from June to September.

About Sand Point Housing:Our Sand Point Housing campus provides permanent supportive housing, affordable permanent housing, and onsite support services for formerly homeless families. Located in Seattles Magnuson Park near Lake Washington, the campus includes renovated historic U.S. Navy buildings and newer construction totaling 183 townhomes and apartments. Today, 400+ people about half of whom are children and youth live in a thriving community with onsite support services at Sand Point.
