About this Opportunity

Are you a hip hop dance enthusiast with a passion for teaching youth? Join our volunteer team as a Youth Yoga Instructor at our Sand Point Housing campus!

The Hip Hop Dance Instructor will provide a safe, supervised space while leading fun, energizing hip hop dance classes for Sand Point Housing youth residents ages 5-18. Classes will be supported by a staff person.Volunteers can set their own schedules anytime Tuesday-Friday, 1-5pm, although we encourage them to set up a consistent schedule for at least 6 months.

Experience teaching youth hip hop classes is preferred. The ideal volunteer will be willing to work with children and families from a varity of backgrounds, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a nonjudgemental, positive, and respectful manner.

About Sand Point Housing: Our Sand Point Housing campus provides permanent supportive housing, affordable permanent housing, and onsite support services for formerly homeless families. Located in Seattles Magnuson Park near Lake Washington, the campus includes renovated historic U.S. Navy buildings and newer construction totaling 183 townhomes and apartments. Today, 400+ people about half of whom are children and youth live in a thriving community with onsite support services at Sand Point.
