About this Opportunity
Canine Inspired Change (CIC) is a nonprofit therapy dog organization dedicated to giving vulnerable youth the social-emotional tools they need to be active participants in their schools and their communities. Working with CIC trained therapy dog teams, these remarkable young people transcend trauma, social struggles and isolation by sparking meaningful connections with dogs, volunteers and each other.
CIC is seeking a Grant Research Intern to:
- Investigate and identify prospective funding sources through colleagues, directories, periodicals, and internet research
- Write letters of inquiry
- Match prospective funding sources with organizational priorities
- Assist with applications for Foundation, Corporate and Government Funders
- Assist with the drafting of compelling grant proposal narratives
- Assist with assembling and submitting applications by due date
- Maintain grant calendar and track submissions and results
- Assist with preparing and submitting reports for funders according to contractual obligations

We harness the healing power of dogs to break down barriers and spark powerful connectionsempowering youth who either have socially isolating conditions or have experienced trauma.
Our innovative and successful program focuses on social-emotional learning to give students the tools to better self-regulate in the classroom and in life. We partner with schools and organizations in the Twin Cities to offer programming that helps vulnerable kids break down barriers and learn the social and emotional skills they need to build connections and trust. Our specially designed programs provide opportunities for youth to work with trained therapy dogs teams to nurture their confidence and self worth while learning social-emotional behaviors that can help them not just survivebut thrivein school and later in life.
