About this Opportunity

We are looking for volunteers for Opening Minds Through Art (OMA), an award-winning, evidence-based art program. OMA is a failure-free program designed to provide older adults with early-stage memory loss opportunities for creative self-expression and social engagement. Volunteers support participants as they create abstract art projects that engage their minds and break through cognitive barriers. Volunteers must attend training, all art sessions, and art show.

Location: JCA Headquarters 12320 Parklawn Drive Rockville, Md. 20852

Volunteer Training: Friday, January 23, 9:30 AM - 12 PM

Art Sessions: Fridays: 9:45 AM - 12:15 PM Jan. 30, Feb. 6, 13, 20, 27

Art show and reception: March 6, 10 AM - 12 PM

The Heyman Interages Center and Gorlitz Kensington Clubs are generously funded by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.
