Maintenance Aid

Assist maintenance staff in the upkeep of Vicksburg National Military Park!  This position will include various assignments in grounds and landscape projects as well as other maintenance duties. Duties include

• Cutting grass and mowing operations

• Clear vegetation surrounding historic structures

• Raking and removal of leaves and other debris

• Use of hand tools, including: saws, pruners, loppers, etc

• Assist in the off-loading of supplies/ equipment from boats and vehicles

• Assist in tool’s maintenance

• General cleanup of maintenance & carpentry shop

• Other maintenance duties as assigned

Qualifications: Must be interested and responsible. Should have experience comparable to the above projecs: working with hand tools and heavy machinery. Experience in carpentry, landscaping, construction, or mechanics is recommended, but not a requirement.
