About this Opportunity

Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area looking for couples or individuals who love to camp and would be interested in volunteering.

Typical duties may include: being a point of contact for visitors, collecting money, meeting and greeting campers, correct minor infractions, promoting park safety, light maintenance duties, trail maintenance, promoting and assisting with campground programs, staffing the visitor center, assisting in interpretive programs, and other duties that may arise.  Assist with cleanup and maintenance of restrooms.

This campground is remote; however, it does have WiFi.  This campground is a favorite of equestrian campers.  Host would need to be comfortable being around horses.

The Host(s) will need to provide their own trailer or recreation vehicle (RV). 

Hours required: Working minimum of 32 hours per week (including weekends and holidays).

Special Skills:

  • A background check will be required in order to handle recreation use monies.The park pays for all related fees.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public.

  • Ability to maintain a set schedule and turn in progress reports of duties performed.

  • Benefits include opportunity to live within the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.  The opportunity to visit with and add to the experience of many Park visitors.  The opportunity to work outdoors in the campground and to enjoy Park programs and resources.

    Applicants should be able to stay for at least four weeks.
