CAMPGROUND HOST at Blanchard Springs Recreation Area
Blanchard Springs Recreation Area is located in the heart of the Picturesque Ozarks. Visitors can view picturesgue rock bluffs, swim in crystal clear streams, hike wooded hillsides and go caving in the unique Blanchards Springs Cavern. Nearby attractions include the Buffalo and White Rivers and the Ozark Folk Center State Park, Leatherwood Wilderness and numerous recreational opportunities. To get to the Blanchard Springs Recreation Area from Mountainview, take Arkansas Highway 14 West for 12.1 miles, turn right (north) at the Blanchard Springs Caverns sign. Follow the signs to the campground.
Volunteer host duties may include: Providing friendly service and recreational information to campers, hikers, bicyclers, anglers and day-use visitors. Take recreational data by walking the 2 camping loops, day use areas and facilities twice a day; perform some litter pick-up, and daily clean the restrooms/showers in all picnic/day-use/campground areas. Explain the campground regulations and the reasons for them. Assist the Caverns staff in visitor contacts, interpretation and staffing information booth.
Hosts are provided with a camping space, including full hook-ups for their RV (60 amp). A washer and dryer, located at the Caverns, is withn an easy driving distance.
