East Lynn Lake Office - Campground Host

Campground Host:

East Lynn Lake in East Lynn, West Virginia has available Campground Host positions which require the volunteer(s) to live in the recreation area and perform the duties to operate a campground or day use recreation area. It is our goal to provide a family oriented camping experience by personally greeting East Lynn Lake visitors in a friendly and courteous manner, and, to promote the safe, responsible use of project facilities and resources, while providing high quality customer service and information.

The volunteer(s) will welcome visitors, and provide literature, brochures, and general information on facilities, fees, rules and regulations and the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS), Conduct periodic walk through/drive through of park to assure campers are on assigned sites according to records. The volunteer will monitor park activities and will contact a park ranger if a problem is observed; the host must have the ability to utilize radio equipment in a professional manner.

Volunteers must be capable of physical work duties in an outdoor environment and will be needed to perform light maintenance duties which may include restroom cleanings; light carpentry work, painting, staining; grass mowing, trimming, and landscaping; litter pick up throughout the project and debris along the shoreline; maintain nature trails; and other light maintenance duties.

Work shifts are generally 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and may include evening and/or nighttime hours, split shifts, and will almost always include weekends and holidays.
