John H. Kerr Reservoir is a massive 50,000 acre lake located near Boydton, Virginia and extends 39 miles up the Roanoke River along 900 miles of wooded shoreline that stretches across three counties in Virginia and three in North Carolina. Throughout the Kerr Lake area, you can find opportunities to boat, fish, camp, swim, picnic, hike, and hunt. The Corps of Engineers operate four campgrounds and numerous day-use facilities for boat launching, swimming and picnicking. Intensive wildlife management techniques are also employed in twenty-six developed areas, consisting of over 10,000 acres of land. These areas provide opportunities for hunting, hiking, and wildlife watching.

North Bend Park Night Shift Volunteer Park Host:

Volunteer hours include 10:00 PM through 6:00 AM each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Major duties include greeting the public and providing customer service. Work inside fee booth, inform park visitors arriving after hours who plan to check onto a campsite that they must come back in the morning to register at 8:00 AM. Record the number of users who are allowed access into park and/or attempting to enter park but cannot.
