About this Opportunity

Environmental Educators lead wildlife management tours of the refuge and conduct interpretive trail walks focusing on importance of wetlands, forests, and wildlife that live there. They also conduct outdoor classroom activities that include forest studies and wetland studies in freshwater, brackish, and salt-water marshes and meadows. Field guides, dip nets, trowels, jars and pans are provided for the group to use. Tours are provided for school groups, scout groups, and senior groups.

Educators also provide presentations to the public on wildife topics and lead bird and nature walks. Positions are ongoing, volunteers are called when a group is scheduled to see if they are available. Most programs are March-May and September-November.
