Museum Volunteer/Front Desk:

Dates: This Position is Year Round 2020

Volunteer Duties: Looking for volunteers that can work a variety of days throughout the year. Monday through Saturday we have two shifts (9:00 AM to 12:00 AM and 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM), but many volunteers work all day. We have one shift (1:00 PM to 4:00 PM) on Sundays. Main duties include greeting visitors and asking them to sign in, providing information about the museum, and assisting visitors with information about the city of Vicksburg (Vicksburg Visitors Bureau provides an employee every day to assist with this duty). We also keep all of our volunteers on an e-mail list, and a few times a year we ask for additional assistance with events that take place at the museum. Most volunteers work 2 to 4 days a month, but we can accommodate as many (or as few) volunteer hours that the volunteer is willing to work.

Special Skills: There are no special skills required but it helps to have good communication skills.
