About this Opportunity

Volunteer to continue the digitization effort for our extensive railroading archives so they become more accessible to researchers at all levels, from scholars to family history enthusiasts, while at the same time helping preserve the documents for future generations since they will not need to be handled as often.

Work is done in an office setting at Steamtown National Historic Site under the direction of the park historian. Previous knowledge of proper scanning techniques is helpful but training will be provided. Sound basic computer skills, however, are required, as is a methodical, attention to detail work attitude.

Your efforts shall help ensure that the legacy of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, other regional railroads, and railroad equipment manufacturers is not lost to posterity.

Work is doneĀ on site during weekdays only.

Contact Historian Patrick McKnight at 570-340-5193 with any questions about this opportunity.
