The area has old-growth forests, meadows with wildflowers, and abundant wildlife including elk, deer, mountain lion, bear, and the ever-present chipmunk. This is the area reputed to be the home of Sasquatch or Bigfoot. The Klamath River is famous for its renowned fishing and rafting.
