About this Opportunity

Purpose:  Conduct Environmental Education.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach school children that come on trips to the Refuge.
  • Lead guided tours.
  • Prepare students for future trips to Refuge.
  • Lead Refuge Programs.
  • Assist with friends group activities.

Report toEnvironmental Educator.

 

Time Commitment24 hours per week.  New couples December 1 – 2 weeks after Easter. 

 

QualificationsGeneral people skills.  Ability to speak in front of groups. (PPE).  Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities. Past teaching experience.

 

SupportNecessary training will be provided.

 

Age RequirementMinimum age of 18.

 

Dress CodeUniform shirt provided

 

Potential hazardsVolunteers should avoid germs/viruses from visitors and be cautious on slippery ramps or boardwalks.  South West Florida has hot and humid conditions.  Volunteers may not climb ladders or stools or administer first aid other than giving necessary supplies to a visitor.  All hazardous situations should be avoided.
