About this Opportunity
Purpose: Conduct Environmental Education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach school children that come on trips to the Refuge.
- Lead guided tours.
- Prepare students for future trips to Refuge.
- Lead Refuge Programs.
- Assist with friends group activities.
Report to: Environmental Educator.
Time Commitment: 24 hours per week. New couples December 1 – 2 weeks after Easter.
Qualifications: General people skills. Ability to speak in front of groups. (PPE). Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities. Past teaching experience.
Support: Necessary training will be provided.
Age Requirement: Minimum age of 18.
Dress Code: Uniform shirt provided
Potential hazards: Volunteers should avoid germs/viruses from visitors and be cautious on slippery ramps or boardwalks. South West Florida has hot and humid conditions. Volunteers may not climb ladders or stools or administer first aid other than giving necessary supplies to a visitor. All hazardous situations should be avoided.
