Join Empowered Futures as an Events Board Member and become a key part of our futuristic and innovative Non-Profit organization committed to career mentorship and self-empowerment in youth between ages 18 and 24.

Through self-empowerment workshops and career-based mentorships, we collectively strive to build confident, emotionally intelligent and resourceful adults for the future generation.
Board Member Description:
The Events Board Member will act as a Spokesperson and formal representative for the Events Team volunteers and their associated activities, short and long-term goals, current projects and plans, and internal communications. The Board Member will also have full authority and be responsible for developing policies, procedures and regulations for the operation of the organization, and monitor the organization's programs, policies and overall performance.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Spokesperson for the Events Committee and provide updates to the Executives of Empowered Futures
- Provide general advice and assistance to the organization upon request by Board members and/or staff.
- Prepare for and attend all meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Attend monthly online board meetings with all committees and volunteers.
- Other responsibilities as requested by the Board of Directors, the Board Chair, or other officers of the Board.
- Review, discuss and vote on program committee guidelines, and to vote on all grant submissions for funding.
- Develop policies for the operation of the Events committees and develop policies for trustee participation on the Board.
Requirement: 10 to 15 hours/month, under a 1 Year Team
Attendance at all regular monthly board meetings (every 2nd Tuesday of the month)
Requirements:
- Experience in Event Planning, Hospitality Management, Event Management, Public Relations, or Business Administration
- At least 5 years of current and/or previous experience in a leadership role
- Experience with managing teams and delegating tasks
- Current and/or or previous experience as a Board Member a plus
