Join Empowered Futures as a Legal Assistant or Lawyer volunteer and become a key part of our futuristic and innovative organization dedicated to empowering emerging adults as they transition into adulthood.

We are currently seeking lawyers who are residing in Quebec.

At Empowered Futures, we are dedicated to creating confident, emotionally intelligent, and resourceful adults through self-empowerment, business mentorship, and unwavering support, to help them build their capability and reap their full potential.

This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to utilize your skills and contribute to making a significant impact on individuals' lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the legal team with legal research, writing and review legal documents
  • Work cross-functionally with the finance team to support funding initiatives for Empowered Futures' mentorship program
  • Collaborate with other members of the legal team to develop effective legal strategies and solutions
  • Provide support on various legal matters
  • Attend weekly team meetings every Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5:00 pm MDT

Qualifications:

  • Must currently reside in Canada
  • Residing in Quebec is a plus
  • Practicing Lawyer is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or currently enrolled in law school
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Working Knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: Privacy Law, Charity Law, Non-profit Law, Corporate and/or Commercial Law
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to social justice and helping underserved communities
