Veteran's Day is Every Day When You Help Your Neighbor!

Helping a neighbor when they need it means more than a single day of service. It means that you care enough to make sure that every day is Veteran's Day. You can help ensure they get fresh foods or out to the bank, and maybe help with some reading and sorting mail or getting out for a cup of coffee and a little time for a chat with a new friend - these are easy ways to make a tremendous impact. If you can visit with a neighbor once a week or every other week this opportunity is for you. Your neighbor who is legally blind and a veteran. Training is provided and it is so easy!

Requirements to be a great volunteer include:

·a desire to help others;

·a pleasant demeanor;

·a good reading/speaking voice;

·average reading skills;

·organizational or planning abilities;

·a good driving record;

·a clear criminal history;

·two references

·access to a car with proof of insurance;

a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage
