Volunteer Proofreaders & Copyeditors. 5+ years in English editing required

iPub Cloud International, a nonprofit publishing house, is seeking experienced volunteer proofreaders and copyeditors to support our mission of publishing stories that inspire change. Our books cover topics such as interfaith dialogue, education, social justice, global crises, memoir, and children’s literature.

We’re looking for detail-oriented professionals who can help polish our manuscripts, blog posts, social media content, and other materials. This is a remote role with flexible hours and meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:

• Proofread and copyedit manuscripts and promotional content
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity (CMOS preferred)
• Provide thoughtful editorial suggestions while respecting the author’s voice
• Collaborate with our team remotely via email and shared documents

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in proofreading or copyediting
• Excellent grammar, punctuation, and language skills
• Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style (or willingness to learn)
• Ability to commit 15-20 hours per month
• Passion for books that promotes empathy, inclusion, and awareness
