Support Food Recovery & Community Meals with Share My Meals (Internship Opportunity - Unpaid)

About the Organization

Share My Meals (SMM) mission is to fight both food insecurity and the environmental impact of food waste by recovering and delivering healthy meals in local communities.

Position Summary

This internship will provide experience working at Share My Meals’ Princeton hub (Dorothea’s House) managing and organizing donation intake/output.

Hours

Thursdays and Fridays from 1pm or 2pm to 4:30pm. Additional hours (2+ per week) if available to pick up and deliver meal donations in the Princeton area throughout the week (does not have to be Thursday or Friday).

Tasks

• Support Thursday and Friday operations, such as:
  • Organizing food donations at Dorothea’s House.
  • Assisting drivers/volunteers with deliveries and pick-ups at Dorothea’s House.
  • Using SMM’s Salesforce platform (requires smartphone).
  • Undertaking other tasks as assigned.
• Optional: manage meal pickup and delivery from local Princeton-area donors and/or delivery to individual homes.

Commitment

4-7 hours per week (plus optional hours for donation pickup/delivery, if available), October 1, 2025 through December 5, 2025 or May 2026.

Location

In person Thursday and Friday at Dorothea’s House (120 John Street, Princeton, NJ 08542).

Compensation

This is an unpaid position; a letter confirming completion of internship hours at conclusion of internship period will be provided.
