About this Opportunity
York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta. We are looking for a Library Info Booth Volunteer—someone devoted to giving back to their community, making an impact, and who loves the library.
The Library Info Booth Volunteer is responsible for:
- Promote enthusiasm for reading and books. Encourage attendees to explore all the resources available at the library
- Staying well-informed about the library's offerings, upcoming events, and services to provide accurate, up-to-date information
- Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone
- Responsible for capturing key moments during the event - for purposes of promotion, social media, and post-event reports
- Punctual and present throughout the entirety of the event

Shift: 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Who We're Looking For:
✔ Minimum age: 12
✔ Able to independently arrive to work on time
✔ Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn
✔ Can commit to scheduled time of event
✔ Fluency in English
✔ Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managinig multiple tasks
Bonus Skills:
✔ Previous experience in event planning and coordinating
✔ Fluency/high proficiency in a language other than English considered an asset
