About this Opportunity
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative art-making as a way to improve a person’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Guided by a professional art therapist, individuals or groups use various artistic activities-such as drawing, painting, sculpting, or collage-to express feelings, explore personal challenges, and foster self-awareness and healing. Art therapy is based on the idea that the creative process can help people communicate thoughts or emotions that are difficult to express with words. It is often used to help people cope with stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, and chronic illness, as well as to enhance self-esteem and personal growth. Art therapy can be helpful for people of all ages and abilities, and no previous art experience is necessary. The focus is on creative expression and personal insight, not artistic skill.
