About PauseAI US: We’re a grassroots movement with one goal: prevent AI from causing catastrophe. We’re fighting for a global AI Treaty to ban superhuman AI, federal safety-testing and whistleblower protections, and state leadership to set ambitious standards.

PauseAI US has 15 local groups across the country – we need more Michiganders to join our ranks!

Why Michigan: Michigan just introduced H.B. 4668, one of the most ambitious AI safety bills in the country. It would mandate safety testing of frontier AI models, protect whistleblowers, and hold AI companies accountable for damages caused by their models. If passed, this bill will serve as a powerful example for the nation to follow.

We need local group leaders who can recruit volunteers, hold community events, get hundreds of letters and phone calls to the Michigan legislature in support of this bill, and meet directly with state and federal officials to advance our demands more broadly.
