Description: As a UI/UX Designer volunteer at Thaddeus Resource Center, you’ll help elevate the digital experience for the communities we serve by bringing thoughtful, user-centered design to life. This role offers the opportunity to apply your design expertise in a collaborative environment, helping improve user interactions and accessibility. You'll work alongside a passionate tech team that values creativity, integrity, and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) concepts for our digital platforms
  • Conduct user research and analyze user feedback to inform design decisions
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
  • Collaborate with the tech team to ensure seamless implementation of designs
  • Develop and maintain our design system and style guide
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and best practices

Requirements:

  • Have completed a Bachelor's degree in UI/UX, IT, Computer Science/Engineering or related studies
  • 5+ years’ experience working in IT, business management or a related field
  • Possess strong personal integrity and ethical principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess strong organizational, problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Time Commitment and Working Conditions:

The responsibilities for this role are performed 100% remotely

  • 5 hrs./week including mandatory meetings
  • 1-year minimum
  • Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
    • Weekly All Staff Meeting: Tuesdays 9-10 AM PST
    • Weekly Tech Department Meetings: Thursdays 9 AM - 11 AM PST
