Calling all SPORTS fans! Become a Friendly Visiting Volunteer for an Older Adults in Queens, NY!

Queens Community House is recruiting volunteers for our Friendly Visiting program, a program that matches home bound older adults with volunteers for weekly visiting to help create a mutual relationship and reduce isolation and loneliness among older adults in our community.Friendly visiting is an enriching opportunity for the volunteer to develop a meaningful friendship. Together, the older adult and volunteer can discuss shared interests, learn/teach new skills, read books, learn technology, and celebrate special holidays.We are currently in need of male volunteer for an older adult living in Long Island City, Queens for in-person visits. Our client is a big sports fan (the Mets and the Celtics are his favorite). Our client loves all sports and his interests include watching old movies and listening to music. He's a big Beatles fan! He's available for afternoon visits any day of the week.If you would like to meet this wonderful older adult and share stories once a week for an hour! Schedule is flexible.
