Volunteer to support a Foster Care Family in Jonesboro, Clayton County

Atlanta Angels knows that not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can make a difference in the life of a child. There are several ways you can make a difference. We have the Love Box program, where we match a foster family with a volunteer in their community who is committed to building a relationship and showing consistently. The Love Box program provides fostering families (caregivers, children in foster care, and biological/adopted children) with community and holistic support. As a Love Box group, you will be matched with a local foster family based on location, compatibility, and scope of needs. When our families are matched with committed volunteers who show up monthly, parents feel supported and children gain a greater sense of normalcy, relational permanency, and self confidence.

This program requires a one-year commitment, with meetings at least once a month with your family.

We are currently seeking specific volunteers to be matched with families on our waitlist! We are specifically looking for volunteers in or around the Jonesboro area for family number #12.

This family has been fostering for five years and specializes in fostering teenagers. They currently have 6 teenage boys in their home (ages 12-18), one of whom was recently adopted and another who is on track to be adopted as well! The foster parents haven’t been away from the boys since they began fostering, due to it being so difficult to find respite care for teenagers. They’d love caregiver support, including someone to talk to and someone to take the boys out so they can get some alone time. All of the boys love basketball!
