About this Opportunity

Are you an experienced Network or Systems Administrator who understands that every successful connection starts with a reliable DNS record? Do you want to leverage your specialized technical expertise to ensure our digital ministry is always accessible, fast, and secure? Greater IMPACT Church is seeking a dedicated DNS Management Specialist (Volunteer) to be the guardian of our digital front door, directly enabling our mission to Connect, Engage, and Serve a global online congregation.

What You'll Do:

  • DNS Infrastructure Management: Oversee, configure, and maintain all DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV) across our domain hosting providers, ensuring 100% uptime for all services.
  • Security & Optimization: Implement best practices for DNS security (e.g., DNSSEC) and performance optimization, ensuring rapid, reliable resolution for all users worldwide.
  • Service Integration: Strategically manage DNS changes for new service deployments, platform migrations (e.g., email, new websites, live streaming providers), and troubleshooting digital accessibility issues.
  • Documentation & Auditing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the domain, subdomains, and DNS architecture. Perform regular audits to prevent record sprawl or security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaboration & Consultation: Act as the primary consultant for ministry leaders and technology teams on all domain, hosting, and network routing matters.

What We're Looking For:

  • Specialized Technical Skills: Proven experience and deep technical expertise in DNS management, domain configuration, and networking fundamentals in a live production environment.
  • Detail-Oriented & Reliability: Extreme attention to detail—recognizing that a single character error in a DNS record can disrupt service globally. Highly reliable in executing changes during designated maintenance windows.
  • Communication: Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical requirements and impact clearly and concisely to non-technical staff.
  • Self-Driven: A self-motivated specialist who can work independently, proactively managing and monitoring the infrastructure without constant supervision.
  • Heart for Ministry: A commitment to the mission of the church and a desire to see technology used as a faithful tool to help lives be impacted through the Gospel.
