About this Opportunity

About Embrace Abilities:

Embrace Abilities is a grassroots nonprofit founded by a mother of a child with a rare genetic condition. We walk alongside families of children and young adults with disabilities (ages 3–21), offering support through medical, educational, and emotional challenges. Rooted in lived experience, we are driven by empathy, advocacy, and real connection.

The Need:

We recently updated our website to prepare for Google Grants, but the result was a cluttered structure that doesn’t reflect who we are anymore. Our heart has gotten buried. The current site is overwhelming to navigate, and we want to bring back clarity, warmth, and our vibrant brand voice.

Organization Overview:

We're seeking a volunteer web designer (familiar with the GoDaddy platform) to help us clean up and redesign our website so it reflects the heart of our mission and helps more families find us.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Review our current site (hosted on GoDaddy) and help streamline navigation and structure
  • Remove outdated or irrelevant content
  • Highlight our programs, impact, and values in a clear, engaging format
  • Ensure the site is user-friendly, mobile-friendly, and visually bright and accessible
  • Apply our existing colors and branding to keep the tone parent-to-parent, inclusive, and community-focused
  • Review our internal overview document and a sample site (provided after initial contact) for tone and structure inspiration

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with website cleanup, redesign, or content management (GoDaddy preferred)
  • Eye for design, accessibility, and organizing content clearly
  • Passion for storytelling and community impact
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly by email
  • Willingness to share a brief summary of your experience and a sample of your work

Why This Matters:

Our website is often the first impression families and partners get of Embrace Abilities. We want it to reflect our vibrant, supportive approach and the real help we offer families every day.

Time Commitment:

  • Flexible hours
  • Project-based
  • Fully remote
  • Work directly with the founder (email preferred for communication)

Apply through Idealist or email us at [email protected]

Please include:

  • A short summary of your relevant experience
